CAMPAIGNS

Some members choose to work actively in their professions to promote the ideas of PCSR.  Others work with the media, lobby MPs, organise open events and other activities that promote PCSR's aims.

Asylum Seekers Campaign
Our Campaign focuses on the issues and difficulties that asylum seekers have to face in Britain today, created by Home Office policies. We aim to draw the profession and the public's attention to the cruel reality of lack of medical and psychological support for asylum seekers in detention centres in Britain. We also aim to promote psychological and mental wellbeing for asylum seekers today and tomorrow.

For further information and how to join our campaign contact Linda Shampan griggshampan1@ukonline.co.uk

Shirin Azari has written about this campaign in past editions of the Psychotherapist Summer & Winter 2007 - see UKCP web site (www.psychotherapy.org.uk) for details, as well as in our own publication, Transformations.

The group masterminded the conference held on 17th May 2008.
